Julie, founder of Curtain Call Adventures, is a native of Assam. Born and raised in the Northeast, she has spent a lifetime traversing its hills, valleys and rainforests, and today she brings that intimate, lived understanding of the region to every journey she designs.
In 2025, Curtain Call Adventures was honoured with the Gold Award at the Outlook Responsible Tourism Awards — a recognition of our commitment to meaningful, community-led travel across one of India’s most extraordinary regions. It is a milestone we hold close, because it reflects the way we love to travel: slowly, respectfully, and always in the company of those who call these lands home.
We love hosting people, and over the past year alone we have had the privilege of welcoming 131 travellers to the Northeast. Each of them arrived with their own curiosities, and each left with stories that were uniquely their own. That, to us, is the heart of what we do.
Our journeys are as varied as the travellers who join us. From curated small-group immersive experiences to bespoke itineraries designed for couples, solo female travellers, multi-generational families, large groups, reunion gatherings, birders, trekkers and those seeking spiritual journeys — every trip is shaped around the people taking it. No two journeys with us are ever quite the same.
The Northeast remains one of the least explored corners of India, and in that lies its quiet magic. We open up the region through its local knowledge keepers and storytellers — the elders, guides, homestay hosts and community members who carry the memory and meaning of these lands. It is through them that our travellers come to truly understand the Northeast, far beyond what any guidebook could offer.
