My friend Subu Sumpi sent these gorgeous pictures of Talley Valley in Arunachal Pradesh, taken this winter( 2017). Arunachal Pradesh contains about 40% of India’s flora and fauna. The state has many unexplored areas that are simply breathtaking. Talley Valley is a wildlife sanctuary as well as a bio-diversity hot spot located at a distance of 32 kms from Ziro towards the north east. It is home to highly endangered species like the Clouded Leopard. Pleioblastus Simone is a bamboo variety only found in Talley Valley.
Subu says there were no roads for cars, and one has to trek for half a day from Ziro to get to the camp site. An excellent trekking adventure that has been recommended by Indiahikes too. In March for The Myoko festival Curated Tour 2018, we will be doing a small trek near Ziro to soak it all in.
Unfortunately, in March, we will be missing the frost. The tiny icicles add a subtle drama in creating a world that defines ethereal beauty.
