I started Little Roots Travel because I believe based on my own childhood travels with my parents, the exposure to different geographic regions and culture helped me both as an individual and a designer, to respect and be open to how other people live. I travel a lot with my own kids, aged 7 & 8 years and I know from experience how challenging it is to travel with little ones. I want to encourage parents with small children to travel and hence focus on group family excursions. Food,  fun activities and importantly a little time to yourself is a key part of my agenda.

The destinations on the tour have been chosen to give you a glimpse into the varied geographic and cultural lifestyles that prevail in the region in a way that is interesting for adults and children alike.

Dzongu is a reserve for the aborigines of Sikkim – The  Lepcha, and being only recently opened to visitors, it is  a great place to find untouched virgin forests and sparkling clear rivers!

Gangtok and Kalimpong are very old trading towns and  were a part of the legendary silk route. Explore them with  a local.

We have included some activities that are off the beaten path but will provide you with memorable experiences-like walking through cardamom fields for a picnic lunch by the river, a traditional meal at the home of a local and a peep into a Lepcha settlement.
